What We Learned from 130 Health Risk Assessments – And How You Can Stay Ahead

At CaptureCare, we believe in staying ahead of preventable health risks. That’s why we offer a free risk assessment — and recently, 130 Australians took it. The data tells a powerful story. Not just about numbers, but about opportunities to change the future of our health — starting now.

Here’s what we uncovered:

🚨 1 in 5 People Have a High 10-Year Disease Risk

20.8% of respondents face a 10-year chronic disease risk of over 10%.

This includes conditions like heart disease, diabetes, stroke and more.

Prevention tip: Early awareness is your superpower. Small shifts in your lifestyle today — more movement, less processed food, better sleep — can significantly reduce your long-term risk.

💓 12% Show Signs of Hypertension

That’s 1 in 8 participants with systolic blood pressure over 140 mmHg — a silent early warning for heart disease or stroke.

What to do: Cut back on salt, limit alcohol, and use a home blood pressure monitor to stay in control.

Withings Body Smart Scale

⚖️ Over 1 in 4 Have a BMI Over 30

26.2% of participants are in the clinically obese range.

Obesity is a known trigger for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers.

Next step: Even losing 5% of your body weight can make a real impact on your health risks.

👵 Nearly 1 in 5 Are Over 65

18.5% of participants are over 65 — a key time to monitor risk factors more closely.

Advice: Prevention doesn’t stop at 60. Keep moving, stay socially engaged, and monitor your vitals regularly.

🩸 1 in 4 Report Living With Diabetes

That’s 24.6% of respondents. This chronic condition can increase your risk of kidney disease, heart disease, and blindness if unmanaged.

Tip: If you’re managing diabetes, you’re not alone — but knowledge is power. Diet, medication and regular glucose monitoring are key.

❤️ Cardiovascular Disease Is Common

25.4% of participants reported a history of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Action: If this is your history, stick closely to your medication, avoid smoking, and prioritise heart-healthy foods.

🧠 Stroke History Is Still Present

7.7% had already experienced a stroke. Many strokes are preventable.

Prevent another one: Control your blood pressure and cholesterol. If you have AFib, speak with your doctor about management options.
