What is Body Comp and how does it differ from other Withings smart scales?

Body Comp’s new novel sensors, exclusive algorithms, patented electronics, and new multi-frequency BIA capabilities will provide improved precision for weight measurement and body composition metrics. It also has the capability to measure visceral fat, a more advanced body composition metric. Lastly, the Body Comp will also redefine body assessment by delivering additional proprietary health metrics such as Vascular Age, Nerve Health Score (EU-only) and Electrodermal Activity Score (US-only).

Is Body Comp more precise than Body+ and Body Cardio?

Yes! We have renewed our iconic patented design, electronics and software to improve the precision of our new scale Body Comp to up to 50g (vs 100g for Body+ and Body Cardio).

What is “Advanced” Body Composition?

Body Comp can monitor weight (kg, lb, st lb), BMI, and also uses multi-frequency BIA to obtain whole body composition (whole body fat, muscle mass, water percentage, bone mass, and visceral fat).

How precise is the scale?

Measurements are precise up to 0.1 lbs (.05 kg) — the best ever achieved on a Withings scale to date.

Is there a maximum or minimum foot size?

There is no maximum or minimum foot size required to use your scale.

What is the Vascular Age feature?

Vascular Age monitors the age of arteries to give a clearer picture of your heart’s health. If your Vascular Age is assessed as significantly greater than your chronological age, you may be more at risk for vascular diseases later in life.

What is Nerve Health Score (NHS)?

Nerve Health Score is an EU-only medically-approved metric that gives an indication of your nervous system’s control of sweat gland activity in your feet to help detect and follow-up peripheral autonomic neuropathies.

What is Electrodermal Activity Score (EDA)?

Electrodermal Activity Score is a US-only wellness metric similar to NHS that gives an indication of your nervous system’s control of sweat gland activity in your feet.

What is visceral fat?

It is the fat stored deep inside the belly. Visceral fat can be associated with chronic health conditions. Body Comp provides you with an easy-to-read index to monitor visceral fat level.

Thanks to Wi-Fi, no phone is needed on you or nearby to track all your measurements to the app. It’s magic. Wi-Fi is also how you get a daily local weather report every time you step on. Bluetooth is used for setup and as a backup when there is no Wi-Fi.

How long is the battery life?

Body Comp will operate under regular use for 18 months with three standard AAA alkaline batteries (included).
