Meet Founder and Visionary – Amelia Dickison
To really understand CaptureCare, first you need to meet Amelia Dickison.
A proud mum, Amelia has lived in numerous countries, speaks multiple languages, is currently writing two books, and is the Founder of Mana Medical and CaptureCare.
Spending 24 years deep in the trenches of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry – across sales, education, marketing, business development and training – she’s heard firsthand the struggles faced by individuals, families and medical professionals as they navigate Australia’s strained healthcare system.
Her entrepreneurial journey began with a single, profound moment. Tasked with launching a new anti-depressant, she gave an impassioned presentation to GPs about the importance of prescribing the right medication. A few weeks later she received a call from a GP about a patient – a mum of three in her mid-forties – who called him to say she was going to end her life after exhausting all medication options. Because of Amelia’s presentation, the GP convinced her to try one last anti-depressant. Just two weeks later, she was in his office… smiling. “Thank you, Amelia,” he said, “You are part of a team of people that helped save this woman’s life.”
A true visionary who sees things others don’t, Amelia realised that by combining the latest digital health tools with personalised support, she could play a part in saving not just one life but many, all around the globe.
Where purpose and profit collide
A firm believer in the interconnectedness of purpose and profit, Amelia plans to use a percentage of CaptureCare profits to fund her ultimate purpose: providing free legal aid to women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence.
Long after she’s gone, she hopes the revolutionary CaptureCare model continues to have a life-changing impact on individuals, medical professionals and women in need.
